December 25, 2009 E-mail was sent out to the dealers early this morning [Wednesday, December 23] that 600 Racing will be changing its name to U.S. Legends International. Bruton Smith at SMI [Speedway Motorsports Inc.] has renewed his interest in Bandolero, Legends, and Thunder Cup racing and has recommended several face lift changes which should rejuvenate interest in the [three] series. Some significant national advertisement campaigns will be starting next month with a full page ad planned for the January 8, 2010 USA Today paper. Management and ownership remains the same so we do not need to worry about disruptions here. As Humpy Wheeler provided a Midas touch of leadership to 600 Racing over the years, we can expect Bruton Smith's guidance to produce many enhancements to our racing series. The 2009 Season November 22, 2009 After running only three events in 2009 I was able to place # 314 out of the 416 people who participated in the LEGENDS'  Master's Division throughout the United States, Canada, and England. Plans are underway for our 2010 season.  Stay tuned for what we will be doing when the 2010 season begins next March. September 24, 2009 Saturday, September 19 I returned to the track.  Bill and I went to Auburndale Speedway where due to double 75 lap late model races we qualified instead of having a customary heat race.  The Legends feature race was extended from 25 to 35 laps.  I was able to post a personal best lap time (16.4 seconds) during qualifying and then proceeded to spin out on the second lap.  We had a field of 13 cars start the feature and I finished 11th. July 5, 2009 Click here for a short clip of the Legends Car Feature Race at Auburndale Speedway on 6/13/09 June 1, 2009 After the major chassis changes, including adding 30 lbs of weight, last Saturday I shaved a half second off my previous best time at Auburndale Speedway!  It will take more seat time for these changes to become the comfortable new norm but we are headed in the right direction - thanks Gary and Brandon. May 28, 2009 It has been eight months since we have been to the track.  In that time INEX rules have changed, the Saturday night track we run in central Florida has changed and my driver situation has not yet materialized as anticipated. Bill Trent and I have spent the winter updating my car to the 2009 INEX rules. In addition, along with the assistance of Gary Verdier and Brandon Thomson, we have changed the chassis set-up from the 3/8 mile Orlando Speedworld to the 1/4 mile Auburndale Speedway set-up. May 30th will be our first visit to a track since September 2008.  Stay tuned for 2009 results and reactions!
